Below is a list of committees that help GRC run to the best of its ability.  If you are interested in joining one of these committees, have a question or suggestion for that committee, contact board@geneseerowingclub.com with that committee name in the subject, the board member on the committee will get back to you.  GRC is an organization run by members for members; the more involvement we have, the more opportunities we can create.

Social Committee 
Organizes social functions for the club, along with providing food and drink for work events at the boathouse. Social functions have included Holiday Party, annual picnic and annual meeting. To work with the other rowing programs in the area to define activities that will foster better relationships between clubs. The committee should consist of sufficient numbers to satisfy the current needs of the club, and is a standing committee with at least one member led by the Committee Chair.

Facility Committee 
Work closely with the Rowing Director on all projects related to the boathouse and docks. Maintain the boathouse and dock space. Identify and assess the needs and improvement of the boathouse facility.

GRC Gear
Order club uniform’s. Determine GRC Gear and vendors.
Communicate to rowers what is being offered, take orders, collect money and distribute merchandise.

Corporate Team Building/Corporate Challenge Committee
 To identify Corporate Challenge\Team Building Groups from the community Communicate with Groups Working Closely with the Rowing Director to: Schedule times for rowing, assigning coaches, coxswains, and scheduling of equipment.

Website Committee/IT IT infrastructure
 Responsible for maintaining and updating the Club Website according to club needs; including but not limited to enhancing website presentation. Website information will be approved by Board of Directors. The Committee shall maintain a website that contains accurate updated information about the club and its programs, club by-laws, rules and policies, news, activities, photographs and applications for class registration and membership.

Safety Committee
To increase and maintain the interest of rowers in safety issues. Identify safety problems and possible solutions To help insure compliance with federal and state health and safety standards.

Membership Committee 
Determine and implement new ways to increase membership. Identify new members and welcome them to the club. Provide awareness to the member about the club benefits.

Regatta Committee
Organize travel arrangements for the team including hotels, team dinners and organizing team tent and food for regattas. Regatta Fee’s- Notify members of the cost of the regatta and collect fee’s. (work closely with the Club treasurer to assure payments are collected)

The GRC Public Relations Committee Responsibilities: Increasing the club’s membership base by introducing and promoting the benefits of rowing to the community Working effectively in partnership with other GRC committees Creating awareness of club activities among club members, media, and the general public Meets quarterly Advertise GRC Rowing Programs.

Fundraising Committee 
The GRC Fundraising Committee is tasked with raising money sufficient to satisfy capital and operational needs. Duties of the Committee The committee should consist of sufficient numbers to satisfy the current fundraising needs of the club, and is a standing committee with at least one member led by the Committee Chair.
