Marketing/Communications


The club's marketing/communications committee, affectionately called the Marcom Committee, has been a new addition to our list of committees this year. The Marcom Committee's responsibilities are to increase the club's membership base and establish a consistent presence to current members by:

1. Creating awareness of club activities, programming and accomplishments via social media, club web page, club newsletter and other local media. The brand will be extended to specific products such as fan gear, business cards, stickers, logos, etc.

2. Establishing strong advertising programs for National Learn to Row Day, Fall Corporate Challenge, Mothers’ Day Row for Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, and Mike O’Neill Scholarship Fundraiser.

3. Identifying new members and welcome them to the club. Social media, website and personal contact to be used to facilitate an easy acclimation to the club and its benefits. Personal contact will be directed by social committee through recurring events to mix potential new members with established members.

4. Developing initiatives to increase awareness of Genesee Rowing Club in the Rochester and surrounding communities
