About Us

The Genesee Rowing Club is located at the intersection of the Genesee River and the Erie Canal in Rochester, New York. With over 100 members and still growing we are able to offer a variety of sweep and sculling programs for novice, recreational and competitive rowers. In addition, we offer indoor rowing and physical training during the winter months.

We maintain a fleet of recently purchased singles, doubles, quads, 8’s and 4’s. This, combined with equipment sharing arrangements with Brighton Rowing and St. John Fisher, assures our rowers access to top quality rowing equipment.

Our competitive teams have had great success in local, national and international levels, winning Gold at US Nationals and Canadian Nationals as well as placing second at the Royal Henley Masters Regatta in England.

While we focus on improving the rowing skills of our members and competing as hard as we know how, we never lose sight of the fact that rowing is a team sport that mandates good sportsmanship and, above all, having fun.

Vision

To provide an environment where all aspects of the club are focused on the enhancement of each rower's experience.

Mission

To provide a comprehensive selection of programs that develop our members while pursuing and promoting competitive opportunities on the local, regional, national, or international stage.
