Learn to Row
Learn to Row

If you’re new to rowing this is for you.   You will learn the fundamentals of rowing in this 4-week program.   You will walk away knowing how to safely handle boat equipment, how to execute the rowing stroke, technical drills and become familiar with rowing terminology.  A low student to instructor ratio and small class size ensures you will get a solid grasp of rowing fundamentals.  Once complete you will be ready to row with our Novice Team.

Learn to Row sessions are offered on the water in Spring, Summer, and Fall.  New rowers are also welcome to join us for Indoor Rowing in November, January, or late February. This is a great way to learn basic skills and improve your strength, flexibility, and endurance, prior to taking an on the water sessions.  Please see our Indoor Rowing page for more information.

2017 Classes

Please note that participation will be capped for each class time. Registration will be on a first come/first serve basis. You do not need to be a member to participate in our Introduction to Novice Program.  We do offer a one-time discounted membership to rowers upon completion of the Introduction to Novice program.  All rowers participating in GRC programming or representing GRC at regattas must be US Rowing members and sign the US Rowing waiver. This includes both members and nonmembers. You may initiate/renew your membership in US Rowing and sign the waiver here . If you are a new US Rowing member, select Join under Individuals.
